Day 1

A) Set up your computer:

• Install the required software.
• If you have any issues with installation, contact the instructors or attend office hours previous to the in-class session.

B) Read and prepare the first part of the Data Carpentry Lesson:

• “Before We Start” for in-class discussion. The first part includes three sections: “What is R? What is RStudio?”, “Why learn R?,”, and “Knowing your way around RStudio”.

Day 2

C) Watch and prepare for in-class discussion the (15 min) video:

• An opinionated tour of RStudio (R-Ladies Sydney).

D) Read and prepare the second part of the Data Carpentry Lesson:

• “Before We Start” for in-class discussion. The second part encompasses two sections “Getting set up” and “Interacting with R”.
